The Environmental Cooperation and Linkages Incorporated (ECOLINK) is a small, grassroots non-stock and non-profit community foundation in the Philippines. Established on June 1995, it was formally registered as a non-governmental organization on May 29, 1996 at the Securities and Exchange Commission with SEC Registration No. GNO-96-00118. Over the past 10 years, it has already been able to implement several projects with innovative and sustainable approaches ranging from social and scientific research to wetlands/ rainforest/ coastal resource management, conservation and planning, short-term human resource development, project development consultancy, human rights advocacy,  promotion of indigenous women and children’s rights, peace-building and conflict management, anti-corruption and transparency and philanthropic efforts.

The ECOLINK has established a long-standing partnership with several national government agencies such as the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Education, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Department of Agrarian Reform. In addition to, It is accredited by 6 provincial and 4 city governments. Some of its past partner funding-agencies are the Asian Development Bank, SZOPAD, NGAMRAI, the World Bank, and JBIC. It holds the secretariat role of the Federation of NGO's for Development (FOND) and has linkages with several not-for-profit institutions in Western Mindanao.It has an internal standard operations procedure and an internal financial management system that follows internationally-accepted accounting principles and processes. It has 3 field offices located in different provinces, 9 full-time personnel, and a pool of experts (on-call) from several academic and professional institutions. Most of our associates are young professionals who believe in making a difference through their whole-hearted and often voluntary services making the institution a "promising one with full of potentials to become one of the leading community foundations in the country".

 

Our Vision:

The ECOLINK set sights on attaining equitable development in Mindanao and other regions through responsive human resource development, promotion of women and children’s rights, democracy and peace-building, sustainable environmental management and protection, support to Local Government Units, and flexible approaches that will address specific concerns of marginalized sectors.

 

Our Mission:

1) To assist communities and local governments in establishing, managing, maintaining and operating socio-economic endeavors to address widespread poverty in the region;

2) To develop and provide local philanthropic initiatives to grassroots organizations in the following cross-cutting themes: women and children’s rights, cultural minorities, environment, effective local governance and transparency, press freedom and conflict resolution; and,

3) To develop and manage projects and initiatives that will contribute to the attainment of our vision.
